The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately one furlong from home involving Windsorlot, ridden by D. Robinson, unplaced, Arcara, ridden by C.D. Hayes, unplaced and Landikusic, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed fourth. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J.Manning was in breach of Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly and having considered his record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard. Furthermore, D.Robinson was cautioned concerning the accuracy of his evidence.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Carrigeen Prince trained by Garvan Donnelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.

The Stewards interviewed W.J. Lee, rider of Champagne Or Water, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(e), in that he used the whip in an area other than the hindquarters or on the shoulder and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Penny Pepper trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran off the first bend.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. W.Fleming, that G.P.Halpin , rider of Queluz, weighed in 1.7 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.

P.J. Smullen, rider of Nora Batt, trained by John W. Nicholson, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung left in the closing stages.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Tamisa, trained by John J. Walsh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was badly hampered at the start.
